DESCRIPTION:James Turner\, Creative Director leads this session hosted by Future Shed as part of Green & Healthy Frome’s focus on storytelling and communications. \nJames is a creative campaigning expert who has over two decades’ experience with organisations like Greenpeace\, Amnesty\, Patagonia and his own company Glimpse. \nHe specialises in using humour and entertainment to make big issues like climate change or refugee relief feel more relatable.\nHis session will focus on the power of a good story to create a successful campaign. \nThis session is for anyone interested in storytelling – it will help you connect with new audiences on an emotional level\, and understand how to put your work in a wider context which gets people excited and engaged. \nYou’ll hear lots of real world examples and have the chance to try out some of these techniques on your own work or projects. DESCRIPTION:Many people would like to make their homes more green and energy efficient but don’t know where to start and worry about the cost. In Frome we can get advice through the Healthy Homes project and finance is available through Lendology – and energy efficiency can pay for itself\, especially now energy prices are so high. \nTom McGauran from Retrofit Bruton and Cary will tell us how the retrofit advice service works there. \nShannon Nutkins from Lendology will give a short presentation on how Lendology provides loans to private homeowners to help more people transition to renewable energy. \nBoth speakers will be available to answer any questions. \nJoin us at the Good Heart for shared food from 7pm. DESCRIPTION:We are planning a Big Green Week in October\, date to be finalised soon. \nWe would like as many other green and related groups as possible to be included. \nThere will be an exhibition/event where you can have a stall\, meet people\, promote your organisation. If you have any other ideas for events/activities that could take place in the week\, you will benefit from our support and the publicity for the whole event. \nThe final dates depend on when a couple of big names can make it! The Climate Coalition is having a Big Green Week\, 18th – 26th Sept. Ours will be later and closer to COhttps://ukcop26.org/P26\, the big UN climate change conference in Glasgow at the beginning of November.

SUMMARY:Sustainable Frome February Meeting: Wellbeing that is Sustainable
DESCRIPTION:There is so much information out there about what you need to do to stay well\, what you should eat\, how much you should exercise\, and so on.  But how about if we stopped listening to all those external instructions that confuse and bewilder us\, and in any case\, are probably not right for us as individuals\, and took a moment to ask our body itself what it actually needs?  Our mind and our body are often at odds.  The mind is more social\, wanting us to feel we fit in and are the same as those around us.  The body\, on the other hand\, is only concerned with itself and its needs\, and is a better reference point if we want to know what we really need at each moment. \n\nIn this short session on Wellbeing Terésa Hadland\, a local bodywork and movement therapist who is also a member of Wellbeing Frome\, will talk about the untapped intelligence of the body and lead you through a short exercise.  Be prepared for some surprises!
