DESCRIPTION:How can Sustainable Frome complement and support the work of Extinction Rebellion while providing alternative ways for people to help the cause without getting arrested? \nA lot of attention and energy is now going into Extinction Rebellion\, so what is the role of Sustainable Frome? XR have decided that ‘conventional campaigning has not been effective enough’ and so have moved up a gear to non violent direct action. BUT\, its vital that all the other actions continue as well. XR on its own could be written off as a few extremists\, and needs to be backed up by local practical actions\, letters to MPs etc. We need to be hitting them form all directions\, in as many different ways as possible. \nAs usual we will start with shared food at 7pm — please bring some veggie / vegan food to share if you would like to join in — then move on to notices and the main meeting from about 7.30pm

We’d like to thank all those who came along in January to let us know what they’d like to see delivered at Saxonvale. DESCRIPTION:UK wide student strike to protest against climate inaction\, with a global strike on Friday 15th March. \nThere have been escalating young people’s school strikes across the globe\, with tens of thousands coming onto the streets to demand action to stop global warming and environmental destruction.\nAll have been inspired by Greta Thunberg who began a solo climate protest by striking from school in Sweden in August 2018. Since then\, thousands of school students around the world have joined her. The school strikes have spread to at least 270 towns and cities in countries across the world\, including Australia\, the United Kingdom\, Belgium\, Switzerland\, Germany\, the US\, Canada and Japan.
