Would you like to help people cut energy costs and carbon emissions? There are 440 excess winter deaths each year in Somerset. National Energy Action are offering a free half day training session to enable you to help others secure support, reduce their energy bills and have a warm and healthy home.  

The course will cover:

1. how identify those at risk of fuel poverty and living in cold homes
2. health impacts associated with cold homes
3. how to read electricity and gas meters and calculate energy consumption
4. explanation of fuel statements
5. the main tariff and payment options available to consumers
6. help available to off-gas households
7. the switching process,
8. reducing energy use through insulation
9. sources of advice and assistance
10. Forces for Warmth referral mechanism
